Fusion 360 name tag
Here's a refresher on CAD with the name tag example done last semester.
First create a sketch then select a plane
Select the 2 point rectangle and create a rectangle of dimensions 25mm by 65mm.
Next click the offset tool, then click the rectangle created. Followed by adjusting the offset distance to 2
Now we will round the corners of this name tag using the fillet tool. Click on it to fillet the 4 outer corners.
In the create tab click on line to draw a line across vertical axis of the rectangle. Then right click the line and set it to normal construction
To set the appropriate distance of the line relative to the edge, we will select Dimension and click on the left outer edge and our line and type in 7 to define a distance of 7mm.
Next draw a point right in the centre and from this point create a circle of 5mm diameter.
Now will be the name part of the name tag, in the create tab you will find create text. Draw a text box within the inner rectangle and type in your name like so using the IMPACT font.
For the next step we will need to click on finish sketch.
To give the name tag another dimension, we will use the extrude tool (or the e button) on the whole sketch excluding the circle by 3mm.
Now hide the bodies by clicking on the bodies eye icon in the browser, followed by showing the sketch by clicking its eye icon.
Select the border and your name for a total of 2 planes and extrude them by 1.5mm. Then in the extrude menu click on the start section and select offset plane and set the offset distance to 3mm.
Unhide the bodies and re-hide your sketch. And voila your keychain is complete!
